Those cage bars seem pointless, or else that ummm gorilla(?) is awfully stupid, since he could walk his hairy butt out between them any old time he wants.

I’m mostly concerned about the final destination of that stick the ape is holding. If that doesn’t make you lively, I don’t know what will.
In reading the text, this appears to be an attempt at imitating P.G. Wodehouse. . .
What is the gorilla doing with his fist? And is that why the man is jumping in the air with hat and tie flying? It makes no sense.
